Fior di Chinotto captures the invigorating passion of the Ligurian Riviera. It is the third creation by Abaton of an olfactory path inspired by their homeland Savona. "A creation dedicated to fearless women with the spirit to pursue their dreams and forge new beginnings", the company says. "The opening is bright with the freshness of waves that breack on the cliff. A velvet bouquet of orange flowers, damask rose, jasmine, tuberose and juicymandarin are like a silken promise on the skin. The base note are worm and enveloping a tapestry of honey, mass and precious woods to provide a beautiful finish".
Chinotto is one of the most authentic symbols of Savona. In XVI Century a sailor from Savona imported some Chinotto plants from China. This precious fruit was considered a sort of amulet for good health and luck by travellers, because its healing properties helped to ward off diseases. In Savona area the plants developed amazing features, thanks to a particular yearly temperate climate.
The organoleptic characteristics of the plants and the fruits of chinotto of Savona are different and better than the other selections and ecotypes of chinotto in Italy and abroad (chinotto myrtifolia). The main differences can be found in various aspects: the absence of seeds and the amplitude of the leaves. 
In addition, the chinotto is rich in vitamin C, stimulates the digestive functions and the flowers have anti-insomnia effects. In cosmetics it is a powerful anti-oxidant with a particular decongestant effect.
