A real Maître de Maison

In the hôtellerie world, where the turnover of leading personnel is quite frequent, Matteo Confalonieri represents an exception. For 20 years he’s been the director, actually, the Maître de Maison at L’Albereta, the prestigious relais tucked away among the green hills of Franciacorta.
Professionally groomed in the kitchen, then as a waiter he lands at the reception to take the reins of the facility as a director.
Since then he is a fundamental pillar of the relais. “Who crosses the threshold is not the guest of an hotel, but enters a private dwelling, discovering an atmosphere full of warmth, as what constitutes the real luxury, is the human factor", Confalonieri says. "Clients wants to come back exactly to find again the same people who made them feel at home. Many projects followed one another over the years. The most important is the one related to gastronomic identity, with the re-organization of the catering system in all its parts, the Leone Felice, entrusted to Fabio Abbattista, the VistaLago Bistrò, the wellness restaurant at Espace Chenot, the Greeneige Lounge and the kiosk La Filiale”.
