In the footsteps of Ayurveda

Kerala is a state in the Republic of India, with 14 districts. The main population centers are Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, and Kozhikode. It has 4 airports serving international and domestic routes. Listed by Time as one of the most beautiful places in the world and one of 52 places to visit according to The New York Times, Kerala is often described as the "God's Own Country," an ideal all-weather destination that offers unique experiences, from its natural beauty to its culinary tradition and cultural heritage.
Among the proposals presented: staying in the Kettuvallam the houseboats that have at their disposal a dock of 900 km, the famous Backwaters, an intricate network of lakes, canals that flow into the Arabian Sea. For those who dream of lush green places, however, here are forests with a boast of 15 wildlife sanctuaries, 2 tiger reserves, 5 national parks.
Kerala is also home to 40 percent of the Western Ghats, a mountain range that runs through the western part of the Indian subcontinent. This region is particularly significant environmentally and culturally, so much so that 19 of the 39 sites in the Western Ghats are recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Beach lovers, on the other hand, can enjoy the 580 km of coastline. Kerala's beaches appeal to those who want to spend time relaxing with Kovalam and Varkala prized for their beauty and facilities. Culture with body and soul: Kathakali. Here artists use the whole body to tell epic stories, often taken from the great Indian poems such as the Mahabharata and Ramayana. The elaborate make-up and costumes are distinctive, with painted faces and large headdresses adding an extra level of drama to the performances.
Among the most important upcoming events: Kerala Travel Mart (Sept. 26-Sept. 29, 2024) India's largest tourism buyer-seller Mart in its 12th year. Champions Boat League (August-December 2024): the world's largest team sport at the world's greenest track. The league will consist of 13 boat races over 4 months in Kerala waters. Special rates for tourists to watch the races. Kochi Muziris Biennale: The country's most impressive exhibition and the largest festival of contemporary art in Asia. This event is spread throughout the city of Kochi with performances in galleries, halls and site-specific artworks set up in public spaces. Both Indian and international artists present their works, using a wide range of media.
