In the heart of timepiece
Retracing the steps of the famous Swiss Longines maison since 1832. Iconic watches, antique cameras, lamps for navigation are available at the Museum based in Saint Imier, a village in the Swiss mountains, known headquarters of Longines maison.
Open from Monday to Friday 9-12 and 14-17, the museum is a good place for watch enthusiasts and lovers of style.
"Elegance is an attitude", says the President Walter von Känel, who has been running the company during 28 years, and loyal to them for 47 years after his first steps as a seller. "Elegance is not appearance, it's rather personality. The real luxury today is being able to have time for life and interests," said the President. "We always look for quality but our watches final price does not exceed 4,000 CHF. We support elegance in sports like horseback riding, tennis, gymnastics and alpine ski. Among the new features we have new books available".
In the museum stand out majestic archival volumes. Particularly impressive is a bulletin board where all the brand's movements are stored.
You can see pocket watches, quartz, mechanical work and automatic winding. Showcasing the caliber 20H.
You may observe the meticulous craftsmanship of tiny pieces that create elegant watches distributed around the world (China the first). It is an example of the passion for refined art and sophistication in style.
