Experiences and luxury at BIT 2025


It arouses enthusiasm to discover the world through an accurate tour at Bit, the International Tourism Exchange, the event at the spacious premises of Rho Fiera Milano that this year saw 1,000 exhibitors from Italy and 64 countries around the world. Luxury shopping remains a major player in Italy with Milan in the forefront offering all the high-end brands of clothing and footwear. On the topic of music-related travel, an emerging trend is gig tripping: travelers plan their itineraries (trips) around multiple concerts, music festivals or live performances (gigs), combining a passion for music with the exploration of new destinations to create cultural and social experiences. Changing shopping tourism: there is a strong desire among travelers to go beyond traditional tourist destinations to interact with local communities.For Expedia, a new phenomenon is that of travelers increasingly going in search of products they cannot find at home. It is especially Generation Z that is fueling this phenomenon even though all types of travelers like to frequent local stores: 39 percent do so habitually and 44 percent buy products that cannot be found in their own country.
