In the past months Rado has added a new colour to its spectrum of high-tech ceramic: chocolate brown. The new colour mirrors subtle
changes in light from a light, sweet brown to a range of dark, rich chocolate hues. Today chocolate brown follows black, white, grey and plasma.
The chocolate brown colour is created when separate compounds merge during the sintering process, which takes place in a specially developed high-temperature kiln. During this process the finished piece shrinks by 23% and achieves its final hardness rating of 1250 Vickers. The new colour offers all the benefits of high-tech ceramic, from its renowned scratch resistance and light weight to its ability to adapt to the wearer’s body temperature.
Black, white, grey, plasma and chocolate brown Rado began working with high-tech ceramic in 1986. To achieve consistency in colour has always the greatest challenge.
