There is a place in Ticino, in Lugano, where contemporary art is not only observed but experienced, explored and shared. A context in which the relationship between the public and the artist returns to being direct and authentic, free from structures and filters. That place is YouNique – Boutique Fair of Arts, which from March 27 to 29, at the prestigious venue of Villa Ciani, celebrates its seventh edition, consolidating its role as one of the leading cultural events in the region for collectors, gallerists and art professionals, as well as the only fair entirely dedicated to contemporary art in Italian-speaking Switzerland.
The 2026 edition brings together six galleries and around 70 Swiss and international artists, both established and emerging, capable of interpreting different artistic languages: from figurative and abstract painting to sculpture, from material experimentation to research on glass between art and design, up to photographic and digital art and contemporary Chinese art, now among the most dynamic laboratories on the global scene. Among the international artists, notable names include Ronal Bejarano (featured every day in a live painting session), Andrea Roggi – known for his monumental bronze works, Stefano Bombardieri – a sculptor with an immediately recognizable style, Zhang Hong Mei – a prominent figure in the Asian art scene, Davide Dall’Osso, Daniele Mazzoleni and Ciro Palumbo.
The dialogue between YouNique 2026 and the urban context extends beyond the interior spaces of Villa Ciani through four site-specific installations, placed in the outdoor and indoor areas of the villa and accessible to the public. YouNique confirms its cultural vocation through a rich program of talks that expand the reflection beyond the exhibition dimension to address current topics: moments of in-depth discussion and dialogue capable of connecting art, geopolitics, collecting, architecture, communication and the art market.
