When music meets flavors

Music and monuments, sound and history, traditions and taste. This, in short, is the magic conveyed by "Echos. Places and Music", the XXVIII International Festival from April 25 to June 21, 2026, the event that every spring fills the artistic sites and the splendid landscapes of the province of Alessandria and Monferrato, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with sound.
On the agenda are 24 concerts forming an itinerant musical journey that reaches 24 venues in 19 cities and municipalities throughout the province of Alessandria. An invitation to discover the beauty of the area accompanied by great artists, with many side events and numerous guided tours to explore the treasures of the region. The artistic director is Sergio Marchegiani. 
Also returning in this edition is the series “The places of wine”, a set of events featuring concerts and tastings in renowned wineries. The project, carried out in collaboration with the Strada dei vini e dei sapori del GranMonferrato, aims to celebrate GranMonferrato, represented by the towns of Casale Monferrato, Acqui Terme, and Ovada and their respective territories.
The first event is on Sunday, May 3 at the Magnoberta Distillery in Casale Monferrato. The event features the Quartetto Chimerico, an international ensemble composed of flutist Tommaso Maggiolini, violinist Amanda Nesa, violist Pedro Gómez Briceño, and cellist Milo Ferrazzini.
On Saturday, May 30, The places of wine moves to the Ovada area, to the Castle of Tagliolo Monferrato. In the castle courtyard, guitarist Claudio Piastra performs with the Simone Pagani Jazz Trio. The program features a musical journey entitled “Classical Meets Jazz”.
The final event of the series is on Saturday, June 20 at the C. Faso' Winery in Bistagno, in the Acqui area, for the concert by the Vagues Saxophone Quartet.
Each concert includes a tasting and a guided tour: of the Magnoberta Distillery and its museum; of the castle and the medieval village of Tagliolo Monferrato; of the winery of the C. Faso' estate and the Monteverde Plaster Cast Gallery in Bistagno.
This year’s guided tour program includes: the San Francesco convent complex in Alessandria, the Torriani and Bandello Castle in Castelnuovo Scrivia, the Town Hall and the Church of San Pietro in Felizzano, the medieval tower of Masio, the Abbey of Santa Giustina in Sezzadio, the Archaeological Museum of Acqui Terme, the Cistercian Abbey of Rivalta Scrivia, the Oratory of San Giovanni Battista in Voltaggio, the Monteverde Plaster Cast Gallery in Bistagno, and the infernot of Fubine Monferrato.
Events have free admission while seats last, with the exception of the one on May 23 (single ticket €5).
For the concerts on May 2 and 3 and for the one on June 13, admission is free but booking is required due to the limited number of seats.
