Enthusiasm and optimism
Taking a cue from iconic pieces, work clothes and everyday classics — a striped soccer referee’s shirt, a windbreaker, cargo pants, a tank top, a bomber, a pareo, a wide-lapelled coat – the designer’s Parisiennes bring it home with freestyle layering, saturated color, technical and couture fabrics and embellishments.
There’s palpable tension between oversized and extremely fitted pieces. As flattering as a skirt, high-waisted pants and a bourgeois blouse in liquid satin revive the spirit of the Avenue Montaigne.
A drawstring brings a sporty twist to a Ricci red dress. Snaps let her (un)dress in a flash. Bat sleeves, cargo pants and pointy heels become essential. Technical faille sweatshirts with tuxedo trousers make a fresh statement. Lifted from the boudoir, a lace-trimmed skirt is elevated by a windbreaker.
Violet is the new black in a palette inspired by a sunset over Bogota: plum, khaki, bronze, royal blue and midnight blue blend with white, black and tweed. Stripes, shine and texture mingle with leopard prints, embroidery, rings, Habotai silk chinz, full-on sequins, jacquard, stretch silk, hand-embossed velvet and crepe de chine worked like English lace.
