A prayer for the contemporary man
Milan Municipality, Giorgio Pardi Foundation and “cramum” association present Eracle Dartizio’s exhibition (13-23 January 2016) "Death of a star and elsewhere" curated by Sabino Maria Frassà.
Eracle Dartizio’s human and artistic search begins here, but it leads us far away, to reflect on the stars and ourselves: so it tells us of our limits, but also of the search for an “elsewhere”, for a refuge and a hope.
As the curator Sabino Maria Frassà says: “In San Sisto’s (now Museum Studio Francesco Messina) the artist represents his lay prayer for the modern man, who is more and more conscious of how small he is in front of the universe, the world
and Human History. Today everything flows over the common man, who often feels powerless to change even only his own existence.
This prayer lets no space to images. Man is facing substance and is alone. Whatever is around him is substance, even the sky we often attribute salvific meanings to. Like any substance the sky, too, will undergo changes, collapse, die.
