Alps tour by train

Interreg Train DomoAlpi promotes sustainable tourism between the Ossola Valleys and Lake Maggiore.
The project includes the Italian side of the Alps, the Valais and the Bernese Oberland. The aim is to enhance the supply of local and international transport to connect a network of hiking and visiting.
To enhance cross-border traffic on the axis Lötschberg-Simplon BLS 2016 services will be extended to the Italian resort of Domodossola.
Now BLS serves Italian side charter trains while for some days during the August 2015 is provided for a period of testing the service Berne-Domodossola. It will be served for the first time regularly by the Swiss private railways.
There are more than 50 different itineraries including the Monte Rosa or the UNESCO site of the Saint Mount of Domodossola.
The goal is to use the existing railway lines: the railway axis Lötschberg-Simplon line Vigezzina-Centovalli.
The railway network served by BLS can reach the UNESCO site Jungfrau-Aletsch and lakes Thun and Brienz.
