The summer boating season opens with significant new developments in the world of yachts designed for long-distance cruising. It is becoming increasingly evident that the new frontier of luxury yachting is no longer limited to the vessels themselves, but also encompasses engineering efficiency, respect for the marine environment, and the elimination of visual and physical barriers between the yacht and the natural world.
Below are some of the latest additions from leading shipyards that embrace this philosophy.
Sunreef 100 Eco
The Sunreef 100 Eco is a revolutionary sailing catamaran designed to redefine the superyacht experience through sustainability and energy independence. The uniqueness of this yacht lies in its proprietary solar power system, featuring solar panels seamlessly integrated into the hulls and superstructure. This cutting-edge technological solution continuously generates clean energy without altering the yacht's elegant profile.
From a technical standpoint, the yacht is equipped with two 360 kW electric motors and a 770 kWh battery bank, a combination that merges eco-friendly propulsion with the efficiency of sailing to ensure clean cruising. Life on board has been designed to provide maximum comfort during extended voyages, offering guests spacious accommodations and generous indoor and outdoor living areas.
Among its standout features is the expansive Ocean Lounge, an outdoor terrace conceived to create a seamless and continuous connection with the surrounding marine environment. In addition, a garage, a dedicated dive gear locker, and a separate water toys storage area provide ample space for all watersports equipment.
Grand Soleil Plus 80 Long Cruise
The Grand Soleil Plus 80 Long Cruise debuts as the new 26.20-metre sailing flagship, dedicated to owners who wish to undertake long-distance voyages in complete safety and comfort. Its energy core is represented by a Torqeedo hybrid platform featuring an electric motor powered by two battery packs with a combined capacity of 80 kWh. In its long-range configuration, the system is supported by two 45 kW generators to ensure battery recharging and extended autonomy during prolonged passages.
Another distinctive technical feature of this yacht is its innovative centralized hydraulic system, which manages all deck operations and sailing equipment through a single circuit, offering the dual advantage of reducing overall weight while maintaining a clean and uncluttered deck. The naval architecture enhances stability through the introduction of carbon reinforcements and twin rudders, providing superior control and immediate responsiveness even in demanding weather conditions.
The interiors and layout are distinguished by an elegant raised deckhouse with 270-degree glazing that floods the saloon with natural light while simultaneously raising the floor to create a technical compartment beneath it for onboard systems. Interior spaces feature warm oak furnishings and bulkheads upholstered with premium fabrics, accommodating four guest cabins and two crew cabins with independent access.
Benetti M/Y Juno’s 7
The M/Y Juno’s 7, the 44-metre flagship of Benetti's Class line, has recently received the prestigious international Best of the Best award from Robb Report US in the motor yacht category thanks to its outstanding design balance.
The true uniqueness of this yacht lies in its construction philosophy, centred on understated luxury expressed through sophisticated yet unostentatious decorative choices, also intended to reduce overall weight and improve efficiency. The shipyard's engineering development focused in particular on the significant reduction of noise and vibration while underway, ensuring exceptional comfort standards during long-range cruising while allowing extensive customization of the guest areas.
The exterior and interior design reinterpret the brand's classic styling cues through clean lines and a sleek bow, recreating the atmosphere and effortless naturalness of a summer residence by the sea through the use of FSC-certified woods such as reclaimed elm for the flooring and matte ash for the walls. The internal layout enhances onboard livability through expansive glazed surfaces and a configuration that includes a gym integrated directly into the owner's suite on the Main Deck, a VIP cabin on the Upper Deck, and a 102-square-metre Sun Deck divided into multiple relaxation areas, further enriched aft by a beach club conceived as a true infinity terrace overlooking the sea for waterside activities. ©Deluxu.it Magazine
